Class Offerings

 

Classes will run from 1/26 to 4/6 (with no class the week of 2/16 during mid-winter break) for a total of ten sessions (except for Tuesday classes, held only on alternating weeks. Exact dates will be posted). All classes are from 2:30- 3:30pm unlcess otherwise noted. Students will be given a small snack at 2:25 before they join their after school class.

Monday Class Offerings

  1. Grades 1-2: Junior Lego Robotics ($300) 

*75 minute class. Dismissal at 3:45 pm 

Let's build a radical range of robot rovers! In this creative course, students will learn how to combine sensors and motors to solve weekly challenges. They will work with partners to construct unique bots on wheels that can dodge walls, detect obstacles, follow paths and much more! Note: this is not a programming class - students will be troubleshooting robotic behaviors with hands-on engineering activities using Lego. Class taught by Bricks4Kidz. 

 

  2. Grades 3-5: Lego Robotics: ROVERS ($340)

*90 minute class- dismissal at 4:00pm

 Build and design real, functioning robots! Each day students receive a short lesson, followed by guided building time. We will tackle creative team challenges to design and construct robots that automatically react to their environment using motors and sensors. Our robots will use echolocation to detect objects, react to obstacles that the bump into, and follow colored paths with light sensors. The session ends with an awesome battle-bot tournament! 3. Grades K-1 : Art Smart with Ms. Glory Wilson ($275) 60 min

Art Smart is designed to teach students the Elements of Art: line, shape, color, value, texture, form and space. This course will give children a wide range of experiences and will help them learn to appreciate the art around them. Most importantly, it will let your child know that there is no wrong way to do art. We will paint, draw, paste sculpt, build, color, fold and more.

4. Grades 2-3: Exploring the Seasons with Art ($300) 60 min

Our fabulous Stevens art teacher will focus on seasonal arts and crafts! We will be doing some work with watercolors and sculpting as well as continuing with drawing, collage and paint. Taught by Ms. Karbula.

Tuesday Class Offering*

  1. Grades 4-5: Seasonal Art with Ms. Karbula ($150) 60 min

Our fabulous Stevens art teacher will focus on seasonal arts and crafts! We will be doing some work with watercolors and sculpting as well as continuing with drawing, collage and paint. Taught by Ms. Karbula.

Thursday Class Offering

​

  1. Grades 3-5: Enchanted Art with Willow ($300) 60 min

 Draw and paint hybrid animals, magical creatures, and fantastical lands. Imagine: hybrid animals, dragons, mer-cats, griffins and other fantastic beasts while hearing Miss Willow's tales of growing up in the Alaskan wilderness. Students will vote as a class on which creatures to draw, color, paint and imagine. This class will combine step-by-step instruction with creative prompts to strengthen artistic skills and creative thinking.
