Tree Sale is back and we need your help!

  • Tree Sale is Looking for Volunteers! We will be having our annual holiday tree sale again this year on December 3rd & 4th! This is a key fundraising opportunity for the PTA and a wonderful community tradition. For those who are not familiar, we sell hundreds of trees, wreaths and greenery each year during a two day popup tree sale right on the Steven’s blacktop. If you are interested in helping, please email gaygilmore@gmail.com or text Gay at 206-228-9227

  • Please join the PTA! Benefits include local and statewide discounts, advocacy, scholarships, programs, and volunteer support.

  • It is the time of the year to select our classroom parent representatives. We are looking for two parents from each classroom to take on the role of classroom representative. If you need additional information about the role of a classroom representative, please feel free to email Glory Wilson glwilson@seattleschools.org To sign up, reach out to your student's teacher!

  • Our next Stevens PTA meeting is Tuesday, October 26th from 6:30pm to 7:30pm on Zoom. The draft agenda is online, and the minutes from the last meeting and our Standing Rules are attached. Add to calendar here. Zoom link: https://seattleu.zoom.us/j/93601501648.

  • This evening (Weds. 10/20), Coe Elementary PTA is hosting a presentation about fund-sharing across PTAs and PTOs. There's exciting work being done to rethink how PTA fundraising and spending works. Please attend if you're able!

  • The recording of the Racial Equity session "Indigenous People, Race, and Education" with Gyasi Ross is now available to watch online. To share thoughts on this event or sign up for future events, please contact racialequity@stevenspta.org.

Tree Sale is Looking for Volunteers

We will be having our annual holiday tree sale again this year on December 3rd & 4th! This i

s a key fundraising opportunity for the PTA and a wonderful community tradition. For those who are not familiar, we sell hundreds of trees, wreaths and greenery each year during a two day popup tree sale right on the Steven’s blacktop. This traditional event has been going on for something like 30+ years and takes a lot of hands. We are looking for a few key roles right now. If you are interested in helping with any of these, please email gaygilmore@gmail.com or text Gay at 206-228-9227 (Note: that all onsite volunteers must provide proof of vaccination to volunteer)

  • Online Orders & Check Out Manager: a tech savvy person, perhaps familiar with Square POS

  • Elves with Trucks: We need 2-3 pickup trucks for tree delivery and fun people to help them (elf hats will be provided)

  • Flyer Designer: someone with great graphic design skills for a WFH role to create the flyer that we send in the mail and distribute throughout the neighborhood

  • Signage Person: A WFH role that creates and prints all the signs for the store

  • Music Person: The person gets the speakers from Ms. Goubert (or something else), coordinates a play list and overall makes sure the holiday is joyous!

  • Leaf Blower Person: Need someone with a blower to do the final blacktop clean up on Saturday afternoon

  • Tree Sale Manager: the current manager will be aging out of Stevens this year, so looking for a replacement to train with her this year

  • Flyer Distribution: we need a bunch of people (this is a great job to do with your kids) to deliver flyers throughout the neighborhood in early November

And if you can’t do any of these early jobs, don’t worry, there will be another sign up later for working shifts during the sale. Any questions contact Gay.

Please join the PTA! Benefits include local and statewide discounts, advocacy, scholarships, programs, volunteer support, services to local PTAs and councils, and training for PTA leaders. This evening (Weds. 10/20), Coe Elementary PTA is hosting a presentation about fund-sharing across PTAs and PTOs. There's exciting work being done to rethink how PTA fundraising and spending works. Please attend if you're able! More info from the Coe PTA: We are hosting a presentation with some people who I consider to be community organizer rock stars. It's impressive what folks are up to on behalf of kids and families. This meeting is open to folks outside the Coe community as well. We just ask that people register at the link. Feel free to share with other families who you think might be interested. See attached flyer for more details.
