Stevens PTA updates for Dec. 8, 2021

Hello Stevens community!


Amazing to see so many people at the Tree Sale last weekend! Huge thanks to Gay Gilmore, Mark Newell, Principal Sammons, and the many other volunteers who made the event happen!

  • Our next PTA meeting is Tuesday, December 14th at 6:30pm on Zoom. The agenda is here; minutes from the previous meeting are available upon request; send any questions or agenda suggestions to info@stevenspta.org.   • The PTA invites you to join us on Saturday, December 11th from 9am to 10am to pick up litter on the school campus and surrounding neighborhood. Please email info@stevenspta.org to get on the mailing list for reminders or just show up.

  • Memberships in the Stevens PTA are now free for all community members! If you'd like to join, all state and local fees will be covered by fundraising. Click here to join: https://www.memberplanet.com/s/wspta-stevenspta/join

  • The 2021-2022 Stevens Directory is on the way! A draft section of the Stevens directory for 2021-22 has been emailed for review. Please review the draft for any errors as to you or your students and respond to this email with any edits. Similarly, if you are included and would like to be removed or are not included and would like to be, please let us know. We need all edits no later than 12/14/21 at 5 p.m.

  • Tutu's Pantry is starting a food drive! Adults can bring food and leave it with Radhana and Jaqueline. If they ring the doorbell one of them will come and grab it from them. See below for a list of foods.

  • Covid emergency support is available! Last year the Stevens PTA voted to set aside 20% of our budget for supporting community members during the pandemic. If you need help with childcare, rent, medical expenses, or other needs, please reach out to the Stevens social worker, Mr. James, at dajames@seattleschools.org

I hope to send out a draft of the policy before the meeting, but if you'd like to help decide whether our PTA should offer future votes electronically, please attend on Tuesday and join the conversation!

We'll provide the garbage picker uppers, garbage bags, coffee and donuts. Please email info@stevenspta.org to get on the mailing list for reminders or just show up. Here is the schedule for the rest of the year: Jan. 8, Feb. 5, March 5, April 2, May 7, June 4. We'll get some steps in, eat some donuts, and make a visible difference at Stevens and the surrounding neighborhood!
