Please join your Stevens PTA! The PTA can be a powerful voice for our students and our community, and the more members we have, the stronger we are! Join here: www.memberplanet.com/s/wspta-stevenspta/join Last year we hosted fun events like "Parents Cook Too," where PTA provided ingredients & recipes and folks signed onto Zoom and cooked together from the comfort of their own kitchens. We also hosted valuable family education conversations around topics like gender identity, sexuality, and racial justice. And we provided financial support for community members struggling to pay bills as a result of the disruptions caused by the pandemic. If you would like to help keep work like that going for this year, please consider serving on the board! We are excited to continue this important work--please join us! Interested in serving on the PTA board? We're still looking for a number of spots. For more info on any of those roles, please get in touch with me or with PTA Secretary Joe Groshong at secretary@stevenspta.org. And if you'd like to support your PTA with a donation, you can do so with this link: https://www.paypal.com/paypalme/stevenselementary

It is the time of the year to select our classroom parent representatives.

We are looking for two parents from each classroom to take on the role of classroom representative.

Here's the full announcement:

Dear Fabulous Stevens Star Parents,

It is the time of the year to select our classroom parent representatives.

We are looking for two parents from each classroom to take on the role of classroom rep.

The role of the rep includes:

Providing communication to the parents in the class from the PTA,

Helping the teacher in gathering volunteers and assisting in gathering resources for classroom projects, gathering parent volunteers from the classroom for PTA and Community Events.

It is the goal of the Stevens staff and the PTA to have strong communication so that everyone in our Stevens Community is included in all of our school events. If you would like to be considered as a PTA Rep for your classroom--- please email your child's classroom teacher and tell them you are interested in being a classroom rep for your child's classroom. The role of the classroom rep is not an overwhelming task. You help answer questions and help to gather additional volunteers for our school and events. You also help answer questions about our school community for our newest Stevens families.

Please consider being a classroom representative for your child's classroom and email your child's teacher today.

Thank you for being an active parent in your child's education.

Teamwork makes the dream work.

Have a sensational day!

And remember---- Goooooooooooooooooooooooo STARS!

Sincerely,

Your PTA Board

If you need additional information about the role of a classroom representative-- please feel free to email Glory Wilson glwilson@seattleschools.org
